Festival Lovers
story behind the piece
In the early summer of 22’, I attended Electric Forest with my friend Rich. We bought tickets on a whim and road tripped across the Northeast from New York to Michigan. It was a week long, campout festival. The experience is difficult to put into words. The positive energy, kindness, and atmosphere was it’s entirely own unique experience. Along the way, we made many friends who’ve all travelled different distances to attend. While sitting in the field during the Toro Y Moi show, I noticed there was a couple sitting maybe 20 yards ahead of us in the only patch of remaining sunlight in the entire field. They were making out and acting really affectionate towards one another. I couldn’t believe such a pure mpoment was enfolding directly in front of us. First I took a photo on my iphone to make sure it was actually an image. I then got up, approached the couple and capture an image on my contax T3 as well as my point and shoot. Funny enough, my favorite image arose from the point an shoot which i based this drawing off of.
