World Peace
story behind the piece
Summer of 22’, I caught up with my friend Shane McGrane. Back in the day, we use to film a lot of skateboarding together. I had the idea for making this piece after feeling really stressed and overwhelmed from the news on my social media.
One of the very first things I remember when I met Shane nearly 12 years ago were his two tattoos in his palms; one being a linear art of the earth and the other being a simple peace sign. My time skating and filming with Shane; I learned he was a really genuine person that always showed positivity and kindness to others.
Years later, we linked up for an early session in LES and I asked to take his portrait on the Brooklyn Bridge. I didn’t ask him to wear blue and yellow pants and he said he didn’t plan on it either.
He’s now a skateboard camp director and a private skateboarding coach. When talking about both of our life intentions; he said he want’s to spread love through skateboarding.
